During this workshop Garth and Pierre will share how they have used artist residencies to enhance their art practice whilst also maintaining a teaching career. They will share will us insights into amazing residencies they have participated in themselves as well as providing us with insider tips and tricks into how to apply for and make artist residencies work for you. 

This session covers:

• Introduction to Artist Residencies – Seeking out and finding a residency that works for you! Location, program format, eligibility, etc.

• Making Them Work – After you’ve been accepted, how do you utilize your time during a residency?

• Benefits – The “gift of time” has to be utilized and structured in order to maximize the benefit.

• Applying – Sources, tips on basic application procedure, image quality, words, and deadlines.
