In this expert session Maria will workshop the process of making 'Dream is Wonderful, Yet Unclear' a multi-layered and multi-disciplinary story of the relationships between collective and personal memories by looking at the community surrounding a textile mill in Narva, Estonia, now closed.
The work discussed personal narratives whilst exploring post-industrial cities worldwide, as they seek new identities.
The session will include;
Step-by-step advice for working with small communities
How to set community projects to larger contexts
How to get community projects started (and funded)
Strategies of dissemination such as curating an exhibition, making an artist / photobook and how to include multidisciplinary outcomes such as performance, moving image and textile.
